Bridge to Freedom recognizes that the problem is not just society, but that the church (as a building and as a community) plays a primary role in modeling how to live Free Indeed to the ex-offender.
Vision
The vision of Bridge to Freedom stems from a prayer that God will use ex-offenders to show forth His Glory as the ex-offender embraces their second chance and successfully reenters society. Bridge to Freedom believes that it is once the ex-offender completes the B2F program, graduates from B2F reenters society, becomes mentors and leaders themselves in their communities can the prayer be accomplished. Thereby, breaking generational curses, unifying the family unit, making obsolete outside gang influences, drug usage, and once again becoming a community and demonstrating a true revitalization in Chicago and the lives of the people so as not to become an inmate again.
Mission
The mission of Bridge to Freedom is to equip through key resources, develop, and empower through strategies, education and support those that are reentering society from prison to responsible freedom.
Goal
The goal of Bridge to Freedom is to reduce and eliminate recidivism. B2F will be the change-agent that mentors and produces change-agents in the life of the ex-offender.
The ex-offender as a change-agent will be equipped to be an effective, productive change-agent in their communities.
B2F models how to live free indeed to the ex-offender. B2F teaches the ex-offender to love, to trust, to not fear, to not be bound, to forgive themselves as well as to forgive those who’ve hurt and wronged him or her.
Bridge to Freedom is faith based.
B2F teaches the ex-offender how to have a prayer life, how to have a worship lifestyle, how to place their focus on Jesus, how to walk in faith, and how to walk in their God-given destiny.
B2F teaches the ex-offender the importance of the relationship, the covenant, the power in/of love to build up their fellow brother/sister in love and to not tear one another down.
B2F models how to live free indeed to the ex-offender. B2F teaches the ex-offender to love, to trust, to not fear, to not be bound, to forgive themselves as well as to forgive those who’ve hurt and wronged him or her.
